देखिए,आज के टाइम्स ऑफ इंडिया,मुंबई संस्करण में अनहित मुखर्जा और श्रेया भंडारी की रिपोर्ट: "For most middle-class families in India,a brilliant child is supposed to study either medicine or engineering.However,the countrys human resources development minister wants to bring about a change in the scene: he plans to start a CBSE vocational course,an alternative to the central boards academic course-for children who are inclined towards trades and skills.
Kapil Sibal made the announcement at a conference on the national higher education policies held by Kandivali Education Societys B K Shroff College of Arts and M H Shroff College of Commerce on Saturday.Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam was also an organizer.
With Sibals track record of alacrity in implementing his plans, this one is likely to be realized in near future. He also talked about his plan to set up a National Vocational Education Framework, which will serve as a blueprint for the countrys vocational education sector,by next year.During the meet,Sibal recalled his experience at a school in England where he was served a scrumptious meal by the students who had themselves prepared the delicious fare at a five-star kitchen on the premises. The school invites professional chefs to train their students in that art. This is happening in several countries across the world,so why cannot we have it in India
At a time when the developed world is facing the threat of a rapidlyageing population that has led to a situation in which there are more job offers than takers,Sibal said, the scene is different in India. Here, there is no dearth of young people, but a large number of them are not qualifiedor skilled for certain professions.Besides taking care of the professional side of the countrys youth, the minister is set to weed out malpractices in the educational world. After passing the Right to Education Bill,he now plans to introduce a new bill that deals with educational malpractices. If a higher education institution puts up information on its website that is false and does not match the realities,it will be considered an educational malpractice, he said".
